Anna Maria Island is a barrier island, and that single fact changes the job before anyone picks up a hammer. Construction here is elevated construction: the finished floor sits above the base flood elevation, which means piling or stem-wall foundations, utilities that have to be raised with the structure, and a set of inspections that a mainland build in Bradenton never encounters.
